Diary
Some days in Huddinge, near Stockholm, Sweden
Sunday -
It was Sunday and 24 pupils and 4 teachers from Germany were happy to fly to Sweden. They met their pen pails there. For some of us it was the first flight. So it was very exciting. The first impression of Stockholm was very good, it is a big city and it was very impressive to see it. After the flight we drove to our hostel by bus. First the hostel was a shock! It was in the cellar, the rooms had no windows and it was very small. But when we made our beds and threw around our clothes over the room it looked much better! ;) We went into town for the first time, had a meal and we were all happy and stuffed and went to bed with a lot of expectations for the next day.
- Monday-
After a short night we drove to school in Huddinge near Stockholm and had a delicious breakfast. It was really tasty. After the breakfast we went around in school with two or three students from the school. After the “guided tour” we got some information about our work together with the Swedish students. The topic was: “My role model”. We worked in small groups with four or five Swedish students. After the hard work with the Swedish partners we got lunch at school. You could choose a lot of things like soups or other tasty things. The Swedish cook is really good. After that we presented our work about our role models. Some groups picked Heidi Klum, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie or their mothers. Anna was very touched. In the evening we went into the city again and at ten o’ clock we had to be at the hostel.
- Tuesday -
On Tuesday morning, the Swedish teachers took us to the metro station. We drove to Annerstaskolan, Huddinge. At first we had a nice breakfast again with a lot of fruits, cornflakes and milk (like the day before). Then we watched a little musical, a talent show. Our friends sang and danced. It was absolutely great! And a German teacher from Annerstaskolan read a short text on German about the tenor. Only for us! Thank you. In the morning, we got a packet lunch, because we were going to visit the city centre and the sights of Stockholm. It was a mini rallye and we found the right answers together (in small groups from the day before). The weather was very, very good. The sun was shining hot and hotter. Then we went back to our hostel and dressed up for the party in the evening. That was the last activities with our Swedish friends on our trip. We sang karaoke (called: “SingStar”), laughed and danced. The teachers had a lovely dinner at the same time. After this we had to say “Goodbye”. Some pupils were very sad, but we will meet again next year at the “Olympics”.
(Message to our Swedish friends: We all miss you and look forward to see you again next year!)
- Wednesday -
In the morning we drove to the airport by bus. We were very tired in the morning of the departure. At the airport we had to wait four hours for the plane! But it was a very big airport and we spent the time looking at the shops or eating something. Than we had to go to our plane and shortly after the plane started into the air. During the time of the flight we were very sad, because we had to say goodbye to our Swedish friends. The days in Stockholm were a great experience, but it was too short. Back in Germany we often talk about the three days and it’s always a nice time to remember.
